about us

OhCannabis, Inc. is incorporated in Canada.  We are actively exploring opportunities in both domestic and international markets, in accordance with local regulations, the development of which we also consult on.  We are particularly interested in the cultivation and processing of cannabis on an industrial agricultural scale.  It is our deeply held belief that medicinal cannabinoid compounds should be affordable for even the poorest among us.  We also believe that it is important to utilize the whole plant: for food, fuel, material, and medicine.  We will be operating several divisions, as well as subsidiaries in the various nations in which we are investing our time, capital, and expertise.

Steve is all about the sensory evaluation.

Steve has been collecting and developing cannabis genetics since the 1980's as a personal hobby.  In 1999 he moved to Switzerland to legally produce cannabis seed commercially, and quickly developed a reputation for excellent seed.  In 2003 he sold his Swiss facility, and opened a winery in British Columbia of which both the vineyard and cellar are certified organic.  He has developed an impressive organoleptic memory and is particularly interested in aromatic profiles.  He has been looking forward to the opportunity to work with the cannabis plant again, and maintains the vision of field farming and processing on an economy of scale that can make the most of the crop.  He was a member of the IHA, (International Hemp Association) while it was still active at the start of the millennium..

ProJects

OCI has ambitions beyond projects currently underway and is constantly exploring new opportunities as they arise.

Oil Refineries: Our primary focus has been on the development and operation of industrial scale cannabis refineries which utilize the whole plant.  We are committed to sustainable, environmentally-sensitive cultivation techniques.  This is not just hippy idealism, we work to improve the productivity of the land over time, rather than depleting it.  We prefer to look for equatorial regions with favourable climates for year round cultivation.  We implement the design and protocols across the spectrum, including all facets of the business, from commercial strategy to growing, processing, and marketing.  Our designs range from 10 hectare pilot plants, to refineries with the capacity to process 150,000+ hectares into several streams of hemp products, including hemp building materials, de-hulled hempseed, hemp protein powder, seed oil for food, seed oil for biodiesel, cannabinoid oils or crystals for pharmaceutical use, and terpenes and other aromatic compounds.  With the exception of the cannabinoid preparations, all other product streams are unrestricted in global trade.  Cannabinoid preparations are only for use where permitted by law.  For larger scale industrial hemp productions, we are exploring trade in carbon credits for the CO2 sequestered by our hemp building materials.

Genetic Resources:  We are constantly improving a wide range of seed stock for varied use in the various climates in which we operate.  Genetics are the foundation of every operation. Beyond breeding for our in-house seed needs we can also produce all manner of cannabis seed for export to countries where legal, even on a custom basis. If you want anything tightened up and available in bulk for your use or for white labelling, send us a note for a quote. Bulk seed now available to farmers and wholesalers where legal. We also have cultivars available in vitro for export from Canada to anywhere they can be imported legally. We have both registered and unregistered genetics, with and without phytosanitary certification, depending on your requirements.

MedIcamentos de cannabis SAS

Our first fully-licensed JV subsidiary is Medcann SAS in Colombia.  We were the first company in Colombia to hold all relevant licences.  We are the only company concentrating on field-grown production.  While our competitors pursue a horticultural paradigm, we are embracing a sustainable, biologically-cultivated agricultural model with unlimited room for expansion.  The commodity cannabinoid market is here.

OPump station on our partner's farm in Magdalena department, about an hour from Santa Marta.  We are planting 10 hectares here for a pilot plant, and then contracting 1000's more hectares to supply the full-scale refinery using all parts of the plant.  This farm will also be home to our lowland breeding program, with an emphasis on backbreeding to restore the lost national genetic treasure of Santa Marta Gold from it's modern descendants.

This is the current nursery (of hardwood saplings) on our Vichada partner's land.  We will quickly scale up this flat land for 50,000 hectares production, with a minimum of 3 crops per year.  We will be acclimatizing seed oil strains of hemp here for both human consumption, fuel, terpenes, and high levels of non-psychoactive cannabinoids.
